Congratulations Ronda Wakefield, 2015 Annual Conference & Exposition Scholarship Winner
Five lucky winners of a new SHRM Foundation scholarship will enjoy an expense-paid trip to the SHRM 2015 Annual Conference & Exposition in Las Vegas. This is the first year the Foundation has offered these scholarships, which are designed to give human resource professionals who have been unable to afford a trip to the Annual Conference an opportunity to attend. One scholarship winner was selected from each of the five SHRM regions in the United States. The scholarship recipients will be recognized during the conference’s general session at 8:30 a.m. on June 30. The winners are:
North Central Region: Jonathan DeArmond
Northeast Region: Cindy King
Pacific West Region: Ronda Gress Wakefield
Southeast Region: Jatisha Marsh
Southwest Central Region: Edna Lugo
Immediately following the general session, there will be a chance to meet and greet the scholarship winners at the SHRM Information Booth located outside the general session hall. At that time, members of the Foundation staff will share information on how to become a donor and how to support the Foundation’s scholarship programs. All visitors to the SHRM Foundation booth (No. 2126) in the SHRM Exposition can register to win a SHRM Virtual Certification Preparation Review. The review course is designed to help participants prepare for the SHRM-CP and SHRM-SCP certification exams. To be eligible to win, individuals can make a donation of $10 or more to the SHRM Foundation and share a sentence or two about how winning the certification preparation program will help them further their HR careers. In addition, conference attendees who make a purchase at the SHRMStore during the conference will have the opportunity to make a small donation to the SHRM Foundation when they check out. Every dollar donated will help support the Foundation’s research, education and scholarship programs, which are vital to the HR profession.
