Activity Information:
The purpose of the presentation is for participants to learn how preventative, comprehensive employee health programs are shown to improve productivity, reduced employer costs, and increased satisfaction throughout the workplace. Participants will be presented with data and studies from various organizations such as the Center for Disease Control and Harvard School of Public Health on these topics. Participants will also receive information quantifying the savings to employers when investments are made in preventative care, as opposed to treating health problems after they occur.
In addition, participants will learn about one comprehensive health program--Take Shape for Life--that focuses on preventing illness by improving one’s overall health using a nutritional approach along with stress reduction, sleep health, and physical fitness. Participants will gain knowledge about how a program like this can be incorporated into a workplace wellness program to fit the needs of, and improve the performance of, individual companies.
Learning Objectives:
1. To increase the HR professionals knowledge of the correlation between poor employee health and productivity.
2. For HR professionals to gain knowledge on how investing in a preventative health program can improve employee productivity and reduce employer costs.
3. To provide HR professionals with information about Take Shape for Life as a possible comprehensive health program to offer to their employees to improve overall employee health and wellness.
