    During this presentation, HR Professionals will learn employment law and case law regarding using criminal background checks in employment decisions. The following key points will be addressed:

    •          The legality of refusing to hire an applicant who has been convicted of a crime
    •          The legality of refusing to hire an applicant who has an arrest record
    •          Considerations when drafting policies regarding background checks

    Presenter Information:

    Angela Jacobs has been practicing in the Flathead Valley since 2002 and has been a partner with Hammer, Hewitt, Jacobs and Quinn since 2004. Her firm represents a variety of insurance companies, businesses and individuals. Angela’s practice focuses on municipality defense, appellate work and employment law.
